Italy targets Indian partners for greater tech innovation

Kolkata: Italy as being among the largest manufacturing economies of the world today, Mr Mauro Battocchi, Councillor, heading the Division for Trade and Investment Support, Department for Economic Affairs, Government of Italy, said here that there should be greater business partnership between the SMEs of Italy and India, particularly in West Bengal, in the emerging new economic environment. Asking more Indian investments into Italy, he said some of the leading industry sectors in Italy today were manufacturing (automotive), furnishings, fashion & leather and food-processing. Mr Battocchi said Italy was searching for partners in India to bring about greater technological innovation in Italian industry.
