Customs Duty Collection Sees 17.2% Growth In April-November

New Delhi: The Centre''s customs duty revenues remain to be optimistic, with collections recording 17.2 per cent growth during April-November 2007 to Rs 66,838 crore compared with Rs 57,050 crore collected in the corresponding period last year. Excise collections during April-November recorded growth of 7.5 per cent at Rs 75,013 crore compared with Rs 69,957 crore. In November, excise duty revenues increased by 5.3 per cent to Rs 10,065 crore. Service tax collections increase to October 2007 stood at Rs 25,420 crore, representing a growth of 35.3 per cent to collections of Rs 18,792 crore during April-October 2007.
