AP Govt Plans To Beef Up Education System

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Government plans to increase focus and investments in shoring up the education sector with public-private partnership. The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, said that the State mulls to take on saturation concept that is targeted at broad-basing the education system covering both residential and non-residential schools. Dr Reddy said a perspective plan has been drawn up to upgrade about 700-odd residential schools managed by Government for weaker sections, with buildings and their infrastructure and about 5,000 non-residential schools. Dr Reddy said that the State was launching rural residential public schools through public-private partnerships. The Chief Minister said that the Government would like to encourage the option of English medium as it is very important to groom students. Shortly, 60-70 private entrepreneurs would be encouraged to take these school ventures.
